A New Look at Horizon Forbidden West
By Cristhian Gómez
PlayStation is known for having some of the best looking video games ever. However, with Horizon Forbidden West, it looks like they’re setting the bar as high as it can get. On Thursday, a State of Play revealed a 14-minute gameplay of the newest game by Guerrilla Games, where we were able to see Aloy back in action, this time on PlayStation 5.
In the gameplay footage, Aloy is tracking down his friend Erend, who was captured by a rebel faction of the Tenakth tribe, while recovering an important artifact in what once was San Francisco. Fortunately for Aloy (and us), she now has new tools and abilities like the Pullcaster, the Shieldwing and the Diving Mask, which will help her navigate the Forbidden West.
There’s also some changes in the combat system, like new combos and weapons that can be used to defeat human and machines enemies alike. Players will have to be careful though, since not all battles can be approached the same way and will need to be planned in order to come out on top.

Explore distant lands, fight bigger and more awe-inspiring machines, and encounter astonishing new tribes as you return to the far-future, post-apocalyptic world of Horizon.
The land is dying. Vicious storms and an unstoppable blight ravage the scattered remnants of humanity, while fearsome new machines prowl their borders. Life on Earth is hurtling towards another extinction, and no one knows why.
It's up to Aloy to uncover the secrets behind these threats and restore order and balance to the world. Along the way, she must reunite with old friends, forge alliances with warring new factions and unravel the legacy of the ancient past – all the while trying to stay one step ahead of a seemingly undefeatable new enemy.
